Russian Players to Participate in 81st Tata Steel Chess Tournament in Wijk aan Zee

Opening ceremony to be held on January 11.

The 81st edition of the Tata Steel Chess Tournament is taking place on January 11-27, 2019, in Wijk lan Zee. 

Magnus Carlsen (Norway), Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan), Ding Liren (China), Anish Giri (Netherlands), Vladimir Kramnik (Russia), Viswanathan Anand (India), Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia), Teimour Radjabov (Azerbaijan), Jan-Krzysztof Duda (Poland), Richard Rapport (Hungary), Samuel Shankland (USA), Vladimir Fedoseev (Russia), Santosh Gujrathi Vidit (India), and Jorden Van Foreest (Netherlands) are taking part in the Tata Steel Masters, the main event of the festival.

14 players, including Anton Korobov (Ukraine), Vladislav Kovalev (Belarus), Parham Maghsoodloo (Iran), Evgeny Bareev (Canada), and two Russians Maksim Chigaev and Andrey Esipenko, are to play in the Tata Steel Challengers.
