Russian Team 65+ Wins European Senior Championship With Two Rounds to Go

The tournament is finishing in Novi Sad.

The European Senior Team Chess Championship is coming to its end in Novi Sad, Serbia. The Russian national team has already won the Championship in the category 65+: with 2 rounds to go, our veterans have scored 14 points out of 14 (all matches were won convincingly) to become the European Champions yet again. The best results are shown by Yuri Balashov and Vladimir Zhelnin - both have 6 points out of 6. 

Meanwhile, the team from Belgium is second - 10 points. Denmark and Serbia - Gerontoloski Centar are sharing 3-4 places. The representatives of Finland, Switzerland, Norway, and England are several points behind.

The leaders in the category 50+ are the teams from Serbia and Sweden which have scored 12 points. The winners and prize-winners will be determined at the finish of the tournament.
