Second Round Games of the Russian Championships Higher League Are Played in Krasnaya Polyana
Rating favourites keep on suffering losses.
In the second round of the open section of the Russian Championships Higher League many well-known sportsmen had a tough time. Vladislav Artemiev lost to Pavel Ponkratov, Ivan Rozum outlayed Denis Khismatullin. Five participants have 2 points out of 2. The following leaders' games will be played in round 3: Najer-Rozum, Ponkratov-Romanov. Vadim Moiseenko will play against Alexander Motylev, who has scored 1.5 points. In the women's tournament the majory of the leading chess players won their games. The exception was the game Pustovoitova-Tomilova, in which a Moscow chess player, being in a time trouble, made a mistake with an extra exchange and had to resign. Daria Charochkina upset the top seed Olga Girya. Tatiana Vasilevich won against Alisa Galliamova.
