Semen Khanin Wins Stage of Russian Rapid Grand Prix in Ulan-Ude

Tournament took place in Ivolginsky Datsan.


The most large-scale stage of the Rapid Grand Prix of Russia took place in Ivolginsky Datsan, the Buddhist Temple in Buryatia. Almost 700 players, including 11 GMs and 6 WGMs, took part in the event.

The first place was shared by IM Semen Khanin, GM Pavel Potapov, and GM Artyom Timofeev with 11 points out of 13. Khanin celebrated victory in the tournament thanks to his superior tie-break.

FM Daria Voit took the fourth place; a well-known female chess player upset many rivals. FM Dmitry Anikonov is the fifth.
