Seventh GCT Event Starts in Kolkata

Russia is represented by Ian Nepomniachtchi.


The 2019 Tata Steel Chess India Rapid & Blitz, the seventh stage of the Grand Chess Tour, will take place in Kolkata on November 22-26.  

Participants:

Magnus Carlsen (Norway), Ding Liren (China), Anish Giri (Netherlands), Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia), Levon Aronian (Armenia), Wesley So (USA), Viswanathan Anand (India), Hikaru Nakamura (USA), Harikrishna Pentala (India), and Santosh Vidit (India).

There will be 9 rounds of rapid chess and 18 rounds of blitz. There are 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw in rapid.

The match days: November 22-24 (rapid) and November 25-26 (blitz).

The games start at 11:30 a.m. and at 10:30 a.m. on the final day (Moscow time).

Total prize fund is $150,000, while the winner receives $37,500.
