Tan Zhongyi Advances to World Championship Final

Harika Dronavalli lost the Armageddon.

The tie-break of the Women's World Championship Semifinal between Tan Zhongyi and Harika Dronavalli took place on February 25 in Tehran. 

Harika won the first rapid game, but Tan managed to equalize the score in the second one. The players traded blows in the 10-minute games as well. Both blitz games ended in draws, so the winner was decided in the ultimate game. Tan Zhongyi, playing Black, managed to win and eliminated her opponent. 

Sunday, February 26 is a rest day. 

The final match between Anna Muzychuk (Ukraine) and Tan Zhongyi (China) begins on Monday, February 27. They will play four classical games, which will be followed by a tie-break, if required. 

All games start at 2:30 pm Moscow.
