Natalia Pogonina Seizes the Lead in Tehran
She won the first two games at the FIDE Grand Prix event.
A FIDE Women's Grand Prix event is underway in Tehran, Iran. Two participants of this important round-robin event are representing Russia – World Vice-Champion Natalia Pogonina and three-time Russian champion Valentina Gunina.
After two rounds they are positioned at the opposite sides of the standings. Pogonina won her first two games and became a sole leader, while Gunina started with two losses.
