Four Semifinalists Determined in Cap d'Aghe
Garamian plays against Fressinet, and Karpov faces Edouard.
The first stage of the Anatoly Karpov Cup ended in Cap d'Aghe, France. Anatoly Karpov and Laurent Fressinet shared the first place with 9.5 points. Romain Edouard was third with 9 points, Tigran Garamian collected 7 points and also advanced to the semifinals. Thus, all four ladies were eliminated from the tournament.

The semifinals are played on Friday, October 30. Tigran Garamian plays with Laurent Fressinet, and Anatoly Karpov opposes Romain Edouard.
