Trio Leads Russian Championship Higher League
Marina Guseva is heading the women's event.
On the 30th of June, the fifth round of the Higher League of the 74th Russian Championship and the 71st Russian Women's Championship was played in Cheboksary.
Pavel Ponkratov, Mikhail Antipov, and David Paravyan are leading the race in the open event with 4 points scored by each. Ten players, including Aleksandra Goryachkina, are half a point behind.
Marina Guseva is in the lead of the women's tournament with 4.5 points. Alina Bivol, Daria Charochkina, Daria Voit, and Ekaterina Goltseva are trailing by half a point.
The 1st of July is the tournament's rest day.
