Turkey’s President Did Not Bring Any Accusations Against the RСF President
Russian Chess Federation receives a clarification letter.
The Russian Chess Federation has received a letter from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, which, in turn, quotes a letter from Turkey’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs (the RCF has a copy of said letter) claiming that Turkey’s President R.T. Erdogan has “neither on 21 December 2015 nor at any other time made any statements concerning the President of the Russian Chess Federation.”
Turkey’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs refers to a mistranslation of an article published in a Turkish newspaper and insists that Turkey’s President was referring to an entirely different person.
The Russian Chess Federation is satisfied with the explanation offered by Turkey’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs and considers the matter closed.
