Valentina Gunina Maintains Leadership in Skolkovo

Round 3 of FIDE Women's Grand Prix leg completed.

The third round of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix leg was played in the Skolkovo business centre on September 13. Viktor Vekselberg, President of the Skolkovo Foundation, owner of Renova Group, made the first symbolic move in the game Stefanova - Ju Wenjun. The game ended in a draw. 

Humpy Koneru defeated Alina Kashlinskaya, Dronavalli Harika bested Marie Sebag, while the games Paehtz - Cramling, Gunina - Goryachkina, and Lagno - Kosteniuk were drawn.  



Valentina Gunina maintains the sole leadership with 2.5 points out of 3. Ju Wenjun, Aleksandra Goryachkina, Humpy Koneru, and Dronavalli Harika are half a point behind.

Round 4 pairings: 

Ju Wenjun - Sebag, Kashlinskaya - Harika, Kosteniuk - Koneru, Goryachkina - Lagno, Cralming - Gunina, Stefanova - Paehtz.

The games start at 3 p.m. The final 11th round will begin at 11 a.m. (Moscow time).

The prize fund is 80,000 euros.

A vast additional program will be held during the tournament.
