World Cadets Blitz Chess Championship Finished in Minsk

Russian players won 5 medals.

The first World Cadets Blitz Chess Championship among boys and girls under 8, 10 and 12 years old finished in Minsk. 532 young chess players from 25 countries took part in the event. 

At the Closing ceremony, Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Shamko, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, ECU President Zurab Azmaiparashvili, Honorary FIDE Vice-President, President of the Spanish Chess Federation Javier Ochoa, Head of the Belarusian Chess Federation Anastasia Sorokina, and Director General of BELAERONAVIGASIA State-Owned Enterprise Leonid Churo rewarded the winners and prize-winners both of the Rapid and Blitz Championships.

Boys U8:

1. Andrei Rudnev (Belarus) - 8 points out of 9, 2. Pham Tran Gia Phuc (Vietnam) - 8, 3. Savva Vetokhin (Russia) - 8;

Girls U8:

1. Anna Shukhman (Russia) - 8, 2. Ho Ngoc Vy (Vietnam) - 7.5, 3. Mai Hieu Linh (Vietnam) - 7;

Boys U10:

1. Islombek Sindarov (Uzbekistan) - 8, 2. Abdulbosit Sharifjonov (Uzbekistan) - 8, 3. Leonid Lystsov (Russia) - 7;

Girs U10:

1. Veronika Shubenkova (Russia) - 7, 2.Liudmila Ivanytska (Ukraine) - 7, 3. Thai Ngoc Tuong Minh (Vietnam) - 6.5;

Boys U12:

1. Denis Lazavik (Belarus) - 7.5, 2. Alexey Grachev (Russia) - 7.5, 3. Bardiya Daneshvar (Iran) - 7.5;

Girls U12:

1. Kseniya Zeliantsova (Belarus) - 9, 2. Vuong Quynh Anh (Vietnam) - 7.5, 3. Nastassja Matus (USA) - 6,5.
