Young Players of Sergey Nesterov’s Prof. Chess Club Challenge the US Youth Team

The match will take place in Saint Louis.

From July 25 to July 29, the Match of the Millennials the USA vs. the World will be held in Saint Louis. The match will be played in two sections: 

1) Team U17 - four boards with a substitute. 

2) Team U14 - four boards consisting of two boys & two girls.

Team U17 will be playing a double round Scheveningen system tournament - total of eight games for each player - two rounds a day.

Team U14 will be playing four rounds match. Boys of boards 1 and 2 will play two games against each of the players of the board 1 and 2 of their counterparts on boards 1 and 2 respectively. The same format is for the girls on boards 1 and 2. 

Russia (as part of the World team) is represented by the players of the Prof. Chess Club (Khimki) GM Alexey Sarana, FM Andrey Esipenko, and WFM Bibisara Assaubayeva.

The competition starts in the Chess Club & Scholastic Center of St. Louis on July 25. The delegation headed by the Prof. Chess Club Director, the President of the Chess Federation of Moscow Oblast Sergey Nesterov will arrive in the USA a couple of days earlier in order to get some rest after a long journey, accustom themselves to the regimen and get ready for the event. 

«The club’s collective hopes that our sportsmen will show decent results as members of the World team», says Sergey Nesterov. «Besides, there are negotiations being held about organizing a return match the USA vs. Prof. Chess Club, which is planned to be held at the end of the year at Arena Khimki».
