Chess Stars to Take Part in Yuri Razuvaev Memorial

The event will be held on November 6 on Chess.com.


The tournament in memory of Yuri Razuvaev (1945-2012), the prominent grandmaster and coach, will be held on Chess.com on November 6, featuring such chess stars as Vladimir Kramnik, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Boris Gelfand, Evgeny Tomashevsky, Alexander Motylev, Mikhail Kobalia, Vladimir Potkin, and Joel Lautier. All of them communicated and worked with Yuri Razuvaev over the years. 

The Yuri Razuvaev Memorial is a round-robin event with a blitz time control of 5 minutes plus 3 seconds per move. The games will start at 4 PM (Moscow time). 

The winner of the round-robin tournament and the runner-up are to play the match for the first place. The encounter will consist of two games and the Armageddon, if necessary. In case of a tie in the round-robin event, the following criteria will be used: 1) direct encounter, and 2) the number of games played with Black.
