Cote d’Ivoire Rapid & Blitz Finishes in Abidjan

The 2019 Cote d’Ivoire Rapid & Blitz, the first event of the Grand Chess Tour, finished in Abidjan on May 12. Magnus Carlsen became the winner of the event with two blitz rounds to spare.
Final standings (rapid + blitz):
1. Magnus Carlsen - 26.5
2-3. Hikaru Nakamura, Maxime Vanhier-Lagrave - 23
4. Wesley So - 19.5
5. Ding Liren - 18.5
6. Wei Yi - 16.5
7-8. Sergey Karjakin, Ian Nepomniachtchi - 15.5
9. Veselin Topalov - 11.5
10. Bassem Amin - 10.5.
The winner gained 13 GTC points and $37.500. Other events will be held in Zagreb (Croatia), Paris (France), twice in Saint Louis (USA), Bucharest (Romania), and Kolkata (India).
