Third Round of Nutcracker-2018 Played in Moscow

Kings and Princes make draw.


The third round of the traditional generation tournament Nutcracker-2018 was played in the Central Chess Club in Moscow on December 19. 

The score was tied in the "Kings" vs. "Princes" match-tournament. Aleksey Sarana defeated Boris Gelfand, Nigel Short won his game against David Paravyan, while the games Esipenko - Najer and Leko - Lomasov were drawn. 

The score is 13-11 in favour of "Princes" (in standard chess, players are awarded 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a lost game). 

Round 4 pairings:

Lomasov - Gelfand, Paravyan - Najer, Leko - Sarana, Short - Esipenko.

In the Boys and Girls’ tournament, Kamaliya Bulatova beat Robert Safin, while the games Dimitrova - Murzin, Goltseva - Makoveev, and Grebnev - Obolentseva were drawn.  



The score is 15-9 in favour of Team Girls.

Round 4 pairings:

Bulatova - Murzin, Obolentseva - Makoveev, Safin - Dimitrova, Grebnev - Goltseva.

There is both online and video broadcast with grandmasters' commentaries organized on the RCF website. Chess lovers are welcome to visit the tournament and listen to grandmasters commenting on the games. The entrance is free.
