13th Session of Certified Specialists School Ends in Gelendzhik

Boris Savchenko and Dmitry Skorchenko were the coaches.

25 chess players of different ages took part in the 13th session of the Certified Specialists School, which was carried out in Gelendzhik. The players were divided into two groups. The main lecturer of the school, grandmaster Boris Savchenko, worked with the elder group (rated 1700-2200 FIDE), focusing of taking decisions under time pressure. Grandmaster Dmitry Skorchenko worked on endgame technique with the younger group.

A traditional open tournament took place during the festival, won by grandmaster Melor Bedia, who scored 8.5/9. Dmitry Skorchenko was second with 8 points, Genrikh Rolgeizer was third with 6 points. 

Final standings  

Boris Savchenko analyzed all the games played in this tournament for the students of the school. 

A blitz tournament was organized after the session. Boris Savchenko took first place, ahead of Bedia, Skorchenko, and the young star Ilya Makoveev.
