Dzhakay Dzhakaev Becomes Champion of Dagestan

The grandmaster wins the title for the 13th time. 

The Championship of Dagestan with the awards of the first President of the Republic Mukhu Alyiev finished in Makhachkala. The organizers were the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Dagestan and the regional Chess Federation, with the assistance of the Committee for Sports, Tourism and Matters Concerning Young Persons of Makhachkala. 

The tournament was a 9-round Swiss, where about 70 strongest chess players of the Republic were taking part. 

Having scored 8 points out of 9, GM Dzhakay Dzhakaev won the event to become a 13-time champion of Dagestan. 

Kamil Kardashev and Ruslan Guseinov took second and third places respectively.  

Rashid Magomedov, Akhmad Khasbulatov, Bagaudin Ramazanov, Arsen Ramazanov, Dzhokhar Shaykhaliev, and Sirazhudin Mamedov are also among the best 9 players. 

Best results among women: 3 place - Patimat Shamkhalova, 2 place - Saida Magomedova, 1 place - Dzhamilya Kamaeva.

Special awards: boys - Eldar Magomedov, seniors - Tata Bariyev, the youngest participant - Taymaz Temirbekov, representative of districts - Rizvan Aliyev. 

The winners and prizewinners were rewarded with exclusive memorable medals, diplomas and money prizes from organizers and Mukhu Aliyev's family. 

The first President of Dagestan Mukhu Aliyev, Executive Director of the Republican Chess Federation Magaram Magomedov, Chairperson of the Committee for Sports, Tourism and Matters Concerning Young Persons of Makhachkala Marat Shikhsaidov took part in the Closing Ceremony.
