Rudik Makarian and Polina Shuvalova Are Among Leaders of World Youth Championship

Final round is ahead.


The penultimate 10th round of the World Youth Championship among boys and girls under 14, 16, and 18 years old was played on October 10 in Mumbai. 

Aydin Suleymanli (Azerbaijan) is leading the race in the Open U14 group with 8 points. The Russian Andrey Tsvetkov is 1 point behind, while Volodar Murzin is trailing by 1.5 points. Bat-Erdene Mungunzul (Mongolia) has scored 8 points in the girls' event. Ekaterina Nasyrova (Russia) is half a point behind.  

In the Open U16 group, the sole leader is Rudik Makarian with 8 points scored. Stefan Pogosyan (both from Russia) is trailing by half a point. Leya Garifullina (Russia) is half a point behind Nazerke Nurgali (Kazakhstan), who has got 8.5 points in the girls' tournament. 

R. Praggnanandhaa (India) is leading the open U18 event with 8.5 points. Oleg Bykov (Russia) is 2 points behind. Polina Shuvalova keeps leading the girls' U18 group with 8 points. Alexandra Obolentseva has scored 7 points, while Anna Afonasieva has got 6.5 points.
