Russians Lead Race in Most Groups at World Youth Championship

Five rounds are over in Italy.


Round five of the U14, U16 and U18 World Youth Championship is over in Montesilvano, Italy. 
 
Five players, including Savva Vetokhin of Russia, are leading the U14 open competition with 4.5 points. Aleksey Prokhorov has got 4 points. In the U14 girls' event, six players are in the lead, including Anna Shukhman. The leaders have 4.5 points apiece. Oksana Goriachkina is half a point behind.
 
Jan Klimkowski (Poland) has a perfect score in the U16 open group. Tamerlan Chyndygyr and Alexander Khripachenko have 3 points apiece. In the U16 girls' tournament the sole lead without losses is with Alexandra Shvedova. 
 
In the U18 open event, five participants, including Aleksey Grebnev, have scored 4.5 points each. Volodar Murzin and Konstantin Popov are half a point behind. In the U18 girls' group, five participants are in the lead with 4.5 points scored by each. Anna Zhurova has 4 points under her belt.
