WR Chess Leads FIDE World Rapid Team Championship

The FIDE World Rapid Team Championship began in Düsseldorf, Germany. After the first tournament day, the leader is the WR Chess team (Wesley So, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Vincent Keymer, Hou Yifan, Alexandra Kosteniuk, and Wadim Rosenstein), which won all four matches. Ian Nepomniachtchi celebrated victories in all four games. 

Team MGD1, which consists of many well-known Indian players, and Freedom led by Viswanathan Anand, are 1 point behind. The Freedom team includes three Russian players - Daniil Dubov, Evgeniy Najer, and Polina Shuvalova.  

In Round 5, WR Chess will face Freedom in the central match. 

The second match day will see four more rounds.
