2017 FIDE Grand Prix Lineup Confirmed

Kaspersky Lab becomes an official partner of FIDE and Agon.

A press-conference with FIDE and Agon representatives took place in Sharjah, UAE. 24 grandmasters will take part in FIDE Grand Prix and will have to pick three events out of four planned. The planned events are Sharjah (UAE), February 18-27, Moscow (Russia), May 12-21, Geneva (Switzerland), July 6-15, and Palma de Mallorca (Spain), November 16-25. Each tournament is a 9-round Swiss with 18 participants. 

Russia is represented by Ian Nepomniachtchi, Peter Svidler, Alexander Grischuk, Ernesto Inarkiev, Evgeny Tomashevsky, Dmitry Jakovenko, and Alexander Riazantsev. 

Two winners of the series will join the candidates tournament. 

During the press-conference it was also announced that Kaspersky Lab becomes an official partner of FIDE and Agon in cybersecurity.
