140,000 Euros Prize Fund Announced for 2016 Aeroflot Open
The festival will take place on February 29-March 11 in the Cosmos Hotel, Moscow.
Traditional international chess festival Aeroflot Open will run from February 29 through March 11 in the Cosmos Hotel in Moscow. There will be three Swiss tournaments in the following rating groups: tournament A – all players rated above 2549, tournament B – 2299-2550, tournament C – below 2300 and unrated. The winner of the tournament A receives an invitation to the Dortmund supertournament.
The Aeroflot Cup blitz tournament will be played on March 10.
Total prize fund of the festival is 140,000 Euros.
The organizers are Aeroflot – Russian Airlines and Association of Chess Federations.
