All-Russian Universal Chess Education Conference Finishes in Dagomys

Winners of qualifying contest get prizes from RCF and Timchenko Foundation. 


On June 5th, the all-Russian conference "Universal Chess Education in the Russian Schools" was concluded in Dagomys, Sochi. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Russian Chess Federation were holding the Universal Chess Education in Russia contest from December 15, 2017, till March 15, 2018. The Contest was aimed at developing of a creative activity of teachers, supporting new technologies of chess education, increasing a professional level and skills of chess pedagogues, and spreading a foremost experience of the best teachers of the universal chess education. The winners and the most active participants were invited to take part in this conference. In general, nearly 150 pedagogues from different regions of Russia came to Dagomys. 

The second day of the conference started with a prize-giving ceremony. Deputy Director General of Elena and Gennady Timchenko Foundation Igor Baradachev presented laptops to 20 pedagogues who had sent the most interesting materials. 

Svetlana Ochneva (Moscow) presented her "Pedagogical Project". IM Sergey Pozin made a report named "Reviewing Chess Literature". Maya Sorina, a teacher from Saint Petersburg, spoke about some Internet-based technologies for chess lessons at a primary school. Director of "DAIV" Ltd. Sergey Abramov presented some educational computer programs and technologies of holding online chess tournaments developed by his company. IM Vladimir Barsky spoke about "Chess School" tutorial developed by the RCF's order and supported by Timchenko Foundation. Vsevolod Kostrov (Saint Petersburg) presented his chess tutorial. Sergey Klimov (Moscow) conducted a mini-seminar "Strategy of the development of universal chess education".  

The second half of the conference saw a general discussion. A working group headed by Alexander Kostiev was created. The group will take into account all suggestions and wishes of the conference's participants and work out a final resolution.
