All-Russian Universal Chess Education Conference Opens in Dagomys

Nearly 150 pedagogues from different regions participate. 


OnJune 4th, the all-Russian conference "Universal Chess Education in the Russian Schools" was opened in Dagomys, Sochi. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Russian Chess Federation were holding the Universal Chess Education in Russia contest from December 15, 2017, till March 15, 2018. The Contest was aimed at developing of a creative activity of teachers, supporting new technologies of chess education, increasing a professional level and skills of chess pedagogues, and spreading a foremost experience of the best teachers of the universal chess education. The winners and the most active participants were invited to take part in this conference. In general, nearly 150 pedagogues from different regions of Russia came to Dagomys. 

Candidate of pedagogic sciences, head of the Russian Universal Chess Education project Alexander Kostiev made a welcoming speech. RCF Executive Director Mark Glukhovsky, Honored coach of the USSR Anatoly Bykhovsky, Vice-Rector of the Moscow State Pedagogical University Sergey Karakozov, and Deputy Director General of Elena and Gennady Timchenko Foundation Igor Baradachev greeted the guests.

Alexander Kostiev delivered a report titled "Universal Chess Education in Russia and abroad: experience and perspectives". Amir Gilyazov, Lada Titova, Oksana Glukhova, Alexey Chernysh, and Viktor Zaretsky spoke about the chess educational system in Chelyabinsk Oblast. Elvira Umanskaya, Tatiana Ogneva, Sergey Pozin and other speakers made repots as well. 

The conference will continue on June 5th.
