Anatoly Karpov and Jan Timman Will Play in Murmansk
Their match will takes place alongside Basamro chess tournament.
4th international Basamro tournament takes place in Murmansk on October 6-9. This year the event coincides with the centenary celebration of the city of Murmansk.
School teams of Murmansk Region and Rotterdam (Netherlands) are the traditional participants of the tournament. They will be joined by the teams of Leningrad Region Chess Federation, Novorossijsk Chess Federation, Sussex Junior Chess (Great Britain) and International Chess Team Paris (France).
A match between chess legends will be played alongside the junior tournament: Anatoly Karpov will compete with Jan Timman, the strongest player of the Netherlands in 70s-80s.
