Andrey Filatov Congratulates Gennady Timchenko on His Anniversary

And thanks him for his tremendous contribution into development of Russian chess.

On November 9, the founder of Elena and Gennady Timchenko Charitable Foundation, a member of the RCF Board of Trustees Gennady Timchenko celebrates his 65th anniversary. President of the Russian Chess Federation, Head Coach of the Russia men's national chess team Andrey Filatov congratulates him on his birthday. 

Dear Mr. Timchenko!

On behalf of the Russian Chess Federation and on my own behalf I would like to congratulate you on your anniversary! Chess lovers highly appreciate your contribution into our sports, in development of mass, especially children’s, chess. Thanks to the support of Elena and Gennady Timchenko Charitable Foundation the programme Chess in Museums, which has become an international brand, is being realized: we have organized significant chess competitions in the Louvre, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Kazan Kremlin, and many other museums, important both in Russia and in the world. 

Your Charitable Foundation helped us revive and increase the level of the team competition for schools Belaya Ladya. Not only best teams from Russian regions, but also foreign chess players participate in the final tournament, which takes place in Sochi. The Chess in Schools programme is being implemented in ten regions of our country, and the RCF is receiving more and more applications.  

Gennady Nikolaevich! These and many other projects would be impossible without your active contribution and self-sacrificing work of your Foundation’s team. Today I would like to wish you robust health, happiness, well-being, and success!
