Andrey Filatov: Kirill Alekseenko Will Show Decent Result in Candidates Tournament
CFR President gave a short interview to TASS News Agency.
In his interview to the correspondent of the TASS News Agency, Andrey Filatov, President of the Chess Federation of Russia, commented on the decision to nominate Kirill Alekseenko for the FIDE Candidates Tournament.
Andrey Filatov: "Our Federation is getting ready for the participation of three Russian players in the Candidates Tournament. The event will take place in Russia that's why the Organizer decided to give a wild card to the Russian grandmaster. We think that Kirill Alekseenko, who became the European champion as a member of the Russian national chess team, will show a decent result in the Candidates Tournament. Participation of any other chess player is out of question".
