Armenian and Indian Schoolchildren Lead Belaya Ladya Final Tournament

5 rounds out of 9 are played in Dagomys.

The 48th final tournament of the traditional all-Russian scholastic chess team event Belaya Ladya goes on in Dagomys. On Monday, June 5, round 5 was played. 

In key matches, the Indian schoolchildren won against their coevals from Saint Petersburg 3,5-0,5, while the Armenian team crushed the chess players from Nizhny Novgorod Oblast 4-0. Teams from Armenia and India are leading the pack with 16,5 board points (9 match points). Schoolchildren from Moscow and Sverdlovsk Oblast have scored 14 points. 

80 Russian and 17 foreign (Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, China, England, Estonia, Greece, India, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Moldavia, Mongolia, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia) teams are taking part in the competition. The organizers are the Russian Chess Federation and Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation. The competition is also supported by Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Elena and Gennady Timchenko Charitable Foundation, Renault Russia Company, Federal Grid Company of Unified Energy System (FGC UES), and PhosAgro.

On Tuesday, June 6, rounds 6 and 7 will be played.
