Cercle d'Echecs de Monte-Carlo Wins European Online Women’s Club Cup

Ugra is second, while Gambit Volgograd is third.

The first European Online Women’s Club Cup took place on Tornelo on December 19-22. 42 teams, divided into five groups, participated the event. Two best teams from each group qualified for the final stage. Ten teams determined the winner in 9 rounds according to the all-play-play system in the Final (December 21-22). 

The Cercle d'Echecs de Monte-Carle (Monaco) won the tournament having scored 14 match points. The team composition included Aleksandra Goryachkina, Nana Dzagnidze, Pia Cramling, Elisabeth Paehtz, Monika Socko, captain is Almira Skripchenko. 

Two Russian teams - Ugra (Natalija Pogonina, Olga Girya, Olga Badelka, Dinara Dordzhieva, Baira Kovanova, captain - Pavel Lobach) and Gambit Volgograd (Valentina Gunina, Marie Sebag, Anastasia Bodnaruk, Nurgyul Salimova, Aleksandra Maltsevskaya, captain - Mihail Yachtenfeld) scored 11 match points each. Ugra took silver thanks to superior tiebreak (21 game points compared to Gambit's 20).
