The Chess Museum received the autograph of the sixth World Chess Champion Mikhail Botvinnik dated 1945. The rarity was presented by Evgenia Schukina, fine arts restorer of the State Russian Museum. Her father, Yuri Miller (1928-2009), who had been working in the Hermitage for many years, was a great chess fan. He asked the future World Champion for an autograph while playing in the simultaneous exhibition against him in the Kirov Palace of Culture on October 5, 1945.
