Chess Players of the Old World Arrive in Batumi

The European Individual Championship starts in Georgia.

The European Individual Championship will take place in Batumi, Georgia, on March 16-29. The event is an 11-round Swiss tournament.

More than 300 participants are registered. The top seed is Dmitry Jakovenko (Russia, 2746). In general, 53 players are representing our country. 

Starting list

The European individual chess championship 2018 is a qualification event for the next World Cup. According to FIDE regulations and the decision of the ECU Board, 23 players will qualify.

Playing days: March 17-22 and 24-28. Free day is March 23.
