Chessable Masters Begins on Chess24.com

The event is a part of the Magnus Carlsen Chess Tour.



The Chessable Masters, one of the Magnus Carlsen Chess Tour's events, is taking place from June 20 till July 5 on Chess24.com.

The line-up: Magnus Carlsen (Norway, 2881), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France, 2860), Ding Liren (China, 2836), Hikaru Nakamura (USA, 2829), Alexander Grischuk (Russia, 2784), Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia, 2778), Fabiano Caruana (USA, 2773), Teimour Radjabov (Azerbaijan, 2758), Daniil Dubov (Russia, 2770), Vladislav Artemiev (Russia, 2769), АAnish Giri (Netherlands, 2731), and Harikrishna Pentala (India, 2690).

The 12 players will first be reduced to 8 in a 4-day knockout stage split into two groups.  The players play each other twice in rapid chess over 10 rounds, with the top 4 then advancing to the knockout stage. 

A Group: Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura, Daniil Dubov, Alexander Grischuk, Vladislav Artemiev and Harikrishna Pentala. 

B Group: Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Ding Liren, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Fabiano Caruana, Teimour Radjabov and Anish Giri.  

The time control is 15 minutes for all moves, with a 10-second increment from move 1. No draw offers are allowed before move 40.

The match days: June 20-23, June 25 - July 5. July 24 is a rest day. The rounds start at 5 PM (Moscow time). 

The prize fund is $150,000 with the winner getting $45,000.
