Dmitry Gordievsky Wins Moscow Open
Oksana Gritsaeva won the women's event.
The main event of the Moscow Open ended in a two-way tie between Dmitry Gordievsky and Vladislav Artemiev. Both grandmasters scored 7.5 points in 9 games. Gordievsky's tie-break was superior and gave him the win. Half a point behind them were Grachev, Khismatullin, Kamsky, Atabaev, and Levin. The women's event, which was also a leg of the Russian Women's Cup, ended in favor of Oksana Gritsaeva, who collected 8.5 out of 9. Alina Kashlinskaya was a full point behind, Dina Belenkaya took third with 7 points.
Evgeny Sveshnikov and Galina Strutinskaya won the senior events.
