Gideon Japhet Memorial Opens in Jerusalem
Russia is represented by Ian Nepomniachtchi and Peter Svidler in main event.
A traditional festival in memory of Gideon Japhet was officially opened in Jerusalem on July 1st. The main rapid double round-robin tournament will see Ian Nepomniachtchi, Peter Svidler (both from Russia), Vassily Ivanchuk, Anna Muzychuk (both from Ukraine), Boris Gelfand (Israel), and Georg Meier (Germany).
Round 1 pairings: Ivanchuk - Nepomniachtchi, A. Muzychuk - Svidler, Meier - Gelfand.
Schedule
The ACP Open Chess Tournament in four groups with the classical time control is being held in parallel. The rating favourites in the main group (Swiss event, 7 rounds) are Arkadij Naiditsch (Azerbaijan), Tamir Nabaty (Israel), and Daniil Yuffa (Russia).
