Pupils from Pskov Oblast met the book’s author Vladimir Barsky.

On October 27, a lecture of the author of Chess School learning kit Vladimir Barsky took place in the chess club of Ostankino Technical Center in Moscow with support of the Russian Chess Federation and Elena and Gennady Timchenko Charitable Foundation.

The event was organized for school children from the Gymnasium named after the first Russian master Alexander Petrov (Opochka, Pskov Oblast). The day before, young chess players had taken part in a blindfold simul against Ernesto Inarkiev, and on October 27 they got acquainted with peculiarities of various pawn endings. Children were very impressed by Vladimir Barsky’s lecture and didn’t want it to stop, that’s why the meeting finished later than it had been planned.
