Natalia Komarova Reelected as a Governor of Ugra

RCF President Andrey Filatov congratulated her on the reelection.

The Duma of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra was electing a new Governor of the region on Septemer 13. 28 of 35 deputies voted for Natalia Vladimirovna Komarova, Ugra Governor since 2010. The inauguration took place on the same day.

Natalia Vladimirovna is well known in chess circles, as she is a Vice-President of the Russian Chess Federation and a member of the RCF Supervisory Board. Under her guidance and supervision Khanty-Mansiysk became one of the major chess centers in the world, hosting the most prestigious events such as World Cups, Chess Olympiad, Women World Championship, World Blitz and Rapid Championships, FIDE Grand Prix, World Junior Championship, etc. 

RCF President Andrey Filatov congratulated Natalia Komarova on her reelection: “The voting result is the best confirmation of your contribution to Ugra development, and a true appraisal of your work at the important governmental position... It is thanks to your energy and love to sports that Ugra has become one of the most active chess regions, organizing exciting events and carrying out various chess project, including junior chess. For Russian chess, your reelection guarantees further chess development in the region.”
