Nikita Vitiugov Leads Grenke Chess Classic With 2/2

On April 1, the second round games of Grenke Chess Classic were played in Karlsruhe. Four encounters out of five ended with decisive results; notably, all the victories were achieved with the white colour. Nikita Vitiugov defeated Georg Meier, Magnus Carlsen outplayed Hou Yifan, Maxim Vachier-Lagrave bested Viswanathan Anand, while Arkadij Naiditsch lost to Levon Aronian. Fabiano Caruana made a draw with Matthias Bluebaum.
