Oleg Dobrovolsky Wins Rostov Liberation Tournament

Pavel Kotenko finished second.

Two rapid chess tournaments dedicated to Rostov-on-Don liberation from fascist occupation during the Second World War, were played in the Don capital. FIDE Master Oleg Dobrovolsky won the tournament A with 7/8, surpassing IM Pavel Kotenko and military man Arkady Dezhurko, who rarely plays in local events. 

Candidate master Rodion Bogdanov, FIDE Master Dmitry Kazmin, candidate master Vyacheslav Sipetin, and WFM Anastasia Travkina won special prizes. 

Tournament B gathered mostly amateur players. Candidate master Viktor Vusevker from Rostov-on-Don took first place, followed by Oleg Osipovich and Grigory Novoseltsev. Vladimir Kantsyn was the arbiter of both events.
