Grandmaster Pigusov Gives a Simul in Kemerovo
The event was scheduled for the anniversary of the Kuzbass Technical University.
Grandmaster Evgeny Pigusov gave a simul dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Kuzbass State Technical University. The simul took place in the Politekhnik chess club on October 20.
The former second of Garry Kasparov (Pigusov was in Kasparov's team during the 1995 World Championship match againat Anand) faced the challenge of three candidate masters, four first category players, and players of lower categories. The youngest opponents of the grandmaster, Vadim Miloserdov and Katerina Zavgorodneva, were last to finish their games, and Zavgorodneva managed to hold to a draw. Despite her young age, she is already quite an experienced player, who participated in many Kuzbass, Siberian, Russian, and European championships.
