Princes Defeat Kings at Nutcracker Generation Tournament in Moscow

The final four rounds of the rapid part of the traditional generation tournament Nutcracker-2018 were played in the Central Chess Club in Moscow on December 22. 

Team "Kings" beat "Princes" 9-7 to equalize the general score 32-32. But "Princes" were declared winners due to their victory in the classical part of the tournament. 

Alexey Sarana showed the best result - 9.5 points. Peter Leko and Boris Gelfand are half a point behind.  

Boys defeated Girls in the second day of rapid 11:5 to win the whole match 35.5-28.5. 

It was Volodar Murzin who excelled in this tournament with 11.5 points. 



The Closing Ceremony took place in the Vladimir Dvorkovich Parlour. The prize-winners were awarded by FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich and RCF Executive Director Mark Glukhovsky. One of Tournament's sponsors and organizers Oleg Skvortsov presented The Nutcracker and the Four Realms movie tickets to Alexey Sarana.
