One year ago, on February 2017, the Russian Chess Federation, the Russian State Library, and the RCF's strategic partner Renault Russia company signed a three-way cooperation agreement. The deal resulted in creating the archive of rare digitized editions. The archive includes about one thousand unique items: books, magazines, theses on chess in main European languages, etc. The most ancient books date from the 16th century, while the latest ones are the books and periodicals of the early Soviet era (before 1930).

Digitized editions are being uploaded here.

All who wish to read rare books free of charge are welcome.

The Russian Chess Federation initiated the creation of a Chess Collection project, the Renault Russia company provided financial support, while the Russian State Library made a selection of editions and their digitizing.
