Russia Beats Germany in the Open Section

In the women's section we drew with Ukraine.

In the 6th round of the World Chess Olympiad in Baku, Russian men's team defeated Germany 3-1 – wins by Kramnik and Nepomniachtchi, draws by Karjakin and Tomashevsky. 

The matches of our competitors ended as follows: India-Netherlands 2.5-1.5, USA-Ukraine 2.5-1.5, Czech Republic-Georgia 2-2, Greece-Azerbaijan 2-2, Canana-Belarus 2.5-1.5.

After the first six rounds, India is in the lead with 12 points. USA has 11 points, ten teams including Russia have 10 points. 

In the round 7 Russia faces Czech Republic. 


Russian women's team made a draw with Ukraine – a victory by Girya was compensated by a loss of Kosteniuk, Gunina and Goryachkina made draws. 

Ukraine and Russia are leading with 11 points, seven teams are one point short. 

In the 7th round Russia will play Poland.
