Russian Grandmasters Congratulate Andrey Filatov on His Birthday

On December 18, the RCF President, FIDE Vice President, Head Coach of the Russian men’s national chess team Andrey Filatov celebrates his 46th birthday. The leading Russian grandmasters sent him their congratulations.

We highly appreciate your contribution into development of chess. In the recent 4 years, you have managed to do a great deal. The Chess in Museums programme has become a popular brand, grandmasters have demonstrated their mastership in the most famous museums of Russia. A renovated Chess Museum, one of the best in the world, was opened in the Central Chess Club. The international school chess tournament Belaya Ladya has reached a new level. 

The Russian Chess Federation is carrying out Chess in Schools and Chess to Orphanages programmes. The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin took part in the opening of the chess section of Sirius Educational Centre. Nowadays, regular training sessions are being held for the most promising young chess players. The best coaches of Russia are working with them.
