Russian Ministry of Sport Awards Chess Players with Jubilee Medal

As part of the celebration of the centenary of its foundation.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 This is to inform everyone that on December 12, 2023, the Decree № 432 "On Awarding the Jubilee Medal dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Establishment of the State Governing Body in the Field of Physical Culture and Sports" was signed to award the Jubilee Medal to the following outstanding personalities for their significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports.
 
This high distinction was awarded to 47 members of the Chess Federation of Russia:  
 
Vice-World Chess Champions: Ian Nepomniachchi, Sergey Karjakin, Aleksandra Goryachkina, Kateryna Lagno, Ekaterina Kovalevskaya; 
 
Galina Strutinskaya, multiple World Chess Champion among veterans;  
 
Leading world grandmasters of different generations: Yuri Balashov, Alexander Grischuk, Valentina Gunina, Alexey Dreev, Daniil Dubov, Alexander Morozevich, Evgeniy Najer, Vladimir Potkin, Sergei Rublevsky, Alexander Riazantsev, Konstantin Sakaev;
