Russian Players Pursue Leader at Women's Grand Swiss

The seventh round of the FIDE Chess.com Grand Swiss and Women's Grand Swiss was played in Riga.
In the open event, Alireza Firouzja defeated Evgeniy Najer to become the sole leader with 5.5 points out of 7. Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Alexei Shirov, and Krishnan Sasikiran are half a point behind.
Round 8 pairings
Having defeated Nino Batsiashvili, Lei Tingjie has strengthened the leadership in the women's event with 6 points scored. Elisabeth Paehtz is 0.5 point behind, while Alexandra Kosteniuk and Alina Kashlinskaya have got 5 points each.
