Russian Teams Win in Round 2 of European Championships

Our next rivals are Spain and Germany.

The second round of the European Team Championships took place in Terme Čatež, Slovenia, on the 13th of November. 

In the open section, Team Russia defeated the Czech Republic 3-1 (Vladislav Artemiev and Andrey Esipenko won their games, while Alexander Grischuk and Daniil Dubov made draws). 

Azerbaijan bested Serbia 3-1, Hungary beat Slovenia-1 with the same score, whilst the matches Israel - Poland, Ukraine - Romania, and Armenia - Norway were drawn.

The leaders with 4 match points are Azerbaijan, Hungary, Russia, Germany, France, and Spain. 

The Russian women's team crushed the Spanish players 4-0: Aleksandra Goryachkina, Valentina Gunina, Polina Shuvalova, and Alina Kashlinskaya were victorious. 

Teams Russia, Azerbaijan, Poland, Germany, Georgia, Armenia, and Ukraine have scored 4 match points each. 

The Russian players will face Germany in Round 3.
