Russian Women's Team Defeat Romania in Round 9 of World Chess Olympiad in Batumi

On October 3, the ninth round of the 43rd World Chess Olympiad was played in Batumi. 

In the open event, the Russian national team won the match against Italy 3-1. Sergey Karjakin and Nikita Vitiugov won the games, while Ian Nepomniachtchi and Vladimir Kramnik made draws. 

Team Poland, which defeated the USA, is the leader with 16 match points. Russia is 2 points behind. 

The Russian women's defeated Romania 3-1. Alexndra Kosteniuk and Olga Girya won, while Valentina Gunina and Natalija Pogonina drew their games. 

China is leading the pack with 16 points. Team Russia has scored 14 points.

In round 10, the Russian men's team will play with England, while the Russian women's team will face Ukraine.
