Sinquefield Cup Starts in Saint Louis

The 2017 Sinquefield Cup, the 3rd leg of the Grand Chess Tour, is taking place from July 31 to August 12 in Saint Louis. Magnus Carlsen (Norway, 2822), Wesley So (USA, 2810), Fabiano Caruana (USA, 2807), Levon Aronian (Armenia, 2799), Hikaru Nakamura (USA, 2792), Maxime Vachier-Lagave (France, 2789), Viswanathan Anand (India, 2783), Sergey Karjakin (Russia, 2773), Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia, 2751) and Peter Svidler (Russia, 2751) will play 9 rounds according to the round-robin system.The Opening Ceremony and drawing of lots were held on August 1.
Round 1 pairings:
Caruana - Carlsen, Vachier-Lagrave - So, Aronian - Nepomniachtchi, Anand - Nakamura, Karjakin - Svidler.
The match days: August 2-6 and 8-11. August 7 is the tournament’s free day. The games starts at 9 p.m. (Moscow time).
