Tatiana Grabuzova and Elena Fatalibekova Become European Senior Champions

Yuri Balashov is second, Tamara Sorokina and Ilena Krasenkova win bronze medals.

The European Senior Chess Championships finished in Rhodes. Jens Kristiansen (Denmark) became the European champion in the "65+" group with 8 points out of 9. Yuri Balashov (Russia) is second with 7 points. Nathan Birnboim (Israel) took the third place with 6.5 points. 

The Russian Elena Fatalibekova won the women's Championship in the "65+" age group having scored 7 points. Tamar Khmiadashvili (2nd place, Georgia) and Tamara Sorokina (3rd place, Russia) are 1 point behind. 

Zurab Sturua (Georgia) and Milos Pavlovic (Serbia) shared 1-2 places in the "50+" event with 7.5 points. The Georgian chess player became the champion thanks to his superior tie-break. Sergei Terentiev (Latvia) took bronze with 6.5 points. 

Women were playing in the same group with men. Tatiana Grabuzova (Russia) won the tournament with 5.5 points. Marina Makropoulou (Greece) is second due to inferior tie-break. Ilena Krasenkova (Russia) is third with 5 points.
